Jennifer needs a tech makeover because…
I nominate my family.
FOUR people, two that are teenagers and ONE computer. One computer that is often being accessed by teenagers to check their Myspace pages and can’t often be used by their mother (myself!) to read blogs, look up recipes, type up a new resume (job hunt!), and to apply at area colleges, or to organize our family photos (I have unsorted pics sitting on our current computer from 1996!).
We live in a rural area, 1/2 an hour from the nearest “big town” and I’d love to have a laptop to take when meeting my invariably late family and friends. It would be a lot less dorky (but more nerdy?) and more productive working on a laptop at a public place, rather than sitting and doing a sudoku puzzle.
Additionally, I have a severely poor sense of direction and would love to be able to access mapquest when I’m on the road.
As a super-busy working mother being able to improve my use of technology will save me time, make my life easier (less nagging of the kids, “Log off NOW!”) and more enjoyable (a recipe for triple chocolate mousse? Mmmm…).
